I saw a thread on Isokinetic sampling nozzles and there have been references to one in our plant, can someone explain why one of these is used?

Isokinetic sampling is done where you require sample velocity equal to the actual flow velocity. I don't know the reference to this particular forum topic, but we generally do it for particle counting.
