Hello Everyone,

I just purchased ISO 14581 for hexalobular socket countersunk flat heads, but I've noticed that these are only rated to 08.8 quality class. I saw in the scope there is a high head version 14582 which can withstand full load in 10.9 class. I am unsure what "high head" refers to and I don't want to purchase another $70 spec to find that it is completely irrelavent to my application. Could someone help clear this up for me, are these a pan\button\oval head or are they just a slightly higher flat head? A picture of the fastener print would be idea, but a simple answer works too.

Thanks
Devin

I do not have 14582, but for sure this does not specify pan head, cheese head, or conventional socket head screws. These are covered in ISO 14583, 14580, and 14579 respectively. Without purchasing it for yourself, your best bet would be to contact a manufacturer of socket head fasteners, or a larger distributor of these products like Bossard, Würth, Fastenal, etc.
