Although there is a change in direction of flow in a Choke valve, due to the reduction in pressure Choke, there would be high flow velocity. There is a possibility the stem may get subjected to flow induced vibration, hence is it necessary to conduct Wake Frequency Calculations for Choke Valve Stem?
