Is the material must be purely elastic in Explicit analysis?

I have a user defined material which is non-linear. But the Abaqus Explicit can't process it saying the material is not elastic. Anyone has such experience?

You can use non-linear materials in explicit. Maybe user defined non-linear materials are not allowed thats why its giving you the message. Read in the user defined materials section in the manual and see what it says regarding simulations in explicit.
