Is ADAMS capable of simulating heat from friction 1

Dear Members,

Is it possible to model heat generated from friciton in Adams? If so, then how?

Write a usersub. I can't point you at an example as they are proprietary but I'm pretty sure there are tire models that exist that 'heat up'. You raise an interesting point, so far as I can see a standard ADAMS model does not maintain an energy balance.

In pure Adams it is not possible, however if you run an Adams/Marc co-simulation - then it is no problem.

Rubbish. More politely, a usersub can do anything you can think of. It takes inputs and supplies outputs. Joining the inputs to the outputs is 'just' programming. Marc may be a good way of doing the bit inbetween.
