I remember reading an article about 10 yrs ago of satellites reading ocean temperatures to 0.01C accuracy from orbit.
They could tell where a ship had been days before from the warming of the ocean water in the wake from propeller friction/turbulence.
What is the current commercial SoA of reading temperature DIFFERENCES (to determine near room temperature profile) in a near (2 meters) metal object in air? The metal surface can be "modified" as desired. Thanks.
