I work for a pump manufacturer and do alot of work with foundries doing sand castings. I have heard that alot of pump companies are going to investment casting. I know very little about this process. Could anyone help with the differences, advantage, disadvantage, or helpful links.

Thanks

Investment casting requires more expensive tooling, but you will reduce machining, get better surface finish, and a better part-to-part consistency. It's worth checking out if you do any volume at all.
