I wish to create a part which is a copy of one part minus the intference with a second part in a assembly. I can create the inteference part no problem. Is it possible to use a boolean subtraction between two parts in an assembly?

In the assembly, RMB the part then select Edit from the Shortcut Menu. Using Insert Part Copy command, copy both of the parts into the part environment. RMB on one of the Inter-Part Copy feature and select 'Make Base Feature' from the short cut menu. You should be able to use the boolean subtraction function.

Hope this helps.
