Does anyone know who or what position in a company can be considered (safe) having an alternate Internal Auditor title?
Would a draftsman carry an alternate title like this?

I'd like to help, but this question really makes no sense to me.

Internal Auditor of what? ISO? Quality? Cleanliness?

Also, what does (safe) mean?

No position in any company can truly be considered "safe". Like rhodie, I am not sure how the Internal Auditor comes into play.

If "alternate title" means you have two bosses, you are screwed.

Not necessarily. But at least one of the three people involved is inevitably screwed.
:)

Internal audits are bogus in my opinion. The poor slob doing the auditing is almost always going to get "instruction" and "advice" from a higher-up on what areas to overlook or avoid. Internal audits are nothing more than an exercise in fell-good back-patting of ones own company. Cynical? maybe, but the drive for profit is what runs most companies, not the overwhelming compulsion to what's right.

Can someone please explain what (in this case) an "Internal Auditor" is supposed to be auditing? Safety procedures, Drafting practices, Book keeping, ...???

I have experience with one that came up with comments related to sheet numbering, "proper" method of indicating delta numbers, date format, etc. No comments were made regarding content what-so-ever.

Internal audit "can" be a good thing if the one auditing is experienced enough to catch mistakes that matter.
