Interesting Web Site - Hydro Plants

This is going to be a tough week; draft tube repairs, etc. so in doing a bit of surfing, I ran into the web site at the URL below. This might be of interest to Rob (SRE) for linking to his site. There's a Russian book translated into English on Draft Tubes; another on tailraces exiting into the river - to name a few.

BigH, thanks for the link. That translated book looks to be VERY detailed.

I guess there must be still some interest in micro hydro. About 30 years ago this was thought to be the wave of the future. The company EG&G was one that was restoring / developing several small, old, hydroelectric stations at existing dams (mainly in the northeast US). The safety and environmental consequences of owning "antique" dams apparently outweighed the income potential of a typical 2 to 5 MW micro power station.

Good luck with the repairs.
