Intellimouse Wheel Pan Problem

I have AutoCAD 2002 which I have recently moved to a different machine. The wheel on the mouse allows me to zoom in and out, but when I try to pan (by holding down the wheel) it pops up a drop down menu for object snaps, and the like.

How do I get pan functions back on the whelly mouse?
