I was recently reviewing my insurance coverage and noticed that there was an exclusion for pollution caused by nuclear material.

Like a lot of other civil firms I own a nuclear soil density gauge. It contains a small amount of nuclear material.

I now know that I would not be covered for this material should an accident occur.

What sort of coverage do most firms have for this sort of equipment?

How much does it normally cost and where is it available?

I have my broker looking into this but he is not having much luck in getting responses from insurance companies.

Rick,

Have you talked to any geotechnical/engineering materials testing labs in your area. Maybe they have such insurance or are cognizant of the associated costs?
