Hey,

I have to draw up a few ILD's and sometimes i get confused with the 2-wire and 3 wire transmitters, Are there any online ILD of both just to see how the positive and negative's go thanks!!

Pulling my chain, eh? Sure you could clone the typical ILD representations. However many loop diagrams are worthless regarding the actual field terminations. My burr applies more to the output terminations with smart I/P positioners but the concept is similar.

Consider reviewing the instruction manual for typical two-wire and three-wire transmitters and wiring information for the terminations associated with the analog input board. It would be nice if the field terminations actually reflect the device terminals.

The typical argument against designing the ILD is that we don't have enough hours to review the manual for every device. OTOH, construction has plenty of time to reterminate every digital valve positioner because the electrician making the terminations had to guess which two terminals apply. Yes, I actually witnessed this on a large offshore platform.

ya i got her all done now, i hate drawing diagrams! i don't mind hooking up equipment and having to get down on the floor, but to just sit at a desk and draw one.
