When inserting a component into an assembly is there a way that I can insert multiples of the same part and just drop several on the assembly at different locations and constrain them all later?

Thanks,

Sure there is, if you look to the upper right corner of the insert screen you will see what looks like a push pin click on it and it will keep the insert part you select up to install multiple copies

Drop the first component into the assy, then select it in the FM tree, hold the Ctrl key down and drag and drop as many times as needed.

You could also create a linear pattern of the component and then dissolve the pattern. This would be a big time saver over drag-n-drop if you needed a lot of instances of the same component.

Thanks to everyone! You guys are a huge help to a Solid Works newbie.
