I have a guy here who is working on smaller assembly file. He typically uses the Insert/Component/Existing Part-Assembly to bring in new parts. He was using this command, in this assembly, previously this morning. Now it is not listed as an option. So he went to Insert/Component/Customize Menu and saw that it was unchecked, so he checked it and then clicked in his display to get out of the menu. When he went back to the menu, it is still not there and customize menu shows it as being unchecked still. He IS able to check/uncheck the other items in that menu and they toggle on/off accordingly. It seems to be only this one command that won't come on.
The only menu related thing he did earlier was this: He was in a part file, he right-clicked on the part, chose Customize Menu, and checked/unchecked items which he wanted to see or not see. I cannot see how this would be related but you never know.
I appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks,

Sometimes closing SW, and restarting it can fix quarks like this (but that particular problem hasn't happened to me yet). This isn't the fix you want, but right-click the command manager > Customize command manager > check Assemblies. It just seems a little faster to me to pick a button for frequently used tools than to go through a menu structure.

Thanks, that will get him around it for now. Plus it will be faster for him. I just wonder why he can't get it in the menu.

I have seen the same problem with another menu item. We had to re-install SolidWorks to get it to come back.
