Inertia Tensor 1

Hi,

i'm trying to get NX 7.5 give me the Inertia Tensor of a body.
I already found out that it wont give me that, it gives me only the Principal Moments of Inertia. O would be OK with that if I could figure out how to do it!
Analysis ---> Section Inertia Analysis
Then: What does Type mean?
Which faces do i select?
What does CSYS, WCS stand for?

The thing is, i can´t even get the Center of Gravity of my object right
I searched a few hours the web, but didn't find my answer...

Could anybody help me?
Thanks in advance!

PS: i could calculate by hand, but it is so much work for complex geometries...

CSYS is shorthand for Coordinate SYStem. In NX there is the absolute coordinate system, sometimes referred to as the ACS or just absolute, and the Work Coordinate System, or WCS for short. The red, blue, and green axis system represents the WCS in NX. You can move this around for convenience, but ultimately all the features reference back to the ACS.

If you are looking for the properties of a solid body, use Analysis -> Measure Bodies... If you check the Show Information Window option, it will return many results. Some results will be listed as (Centroidal) and others as (WCS); centroidal is the value about the body's CG, WCS is the value about your current WCS origin.

Analysis -> Section Inertia Analysis calculates the second moment of area. This value is used in calculations that depend on the cross-section shape of a body (e.g. beam deflection, shaft torsion, etc).

Ahh, my thoughts on CSYS, WCS, etc were right

The trick was checking the Show Information Window! Thanks!!
