I posted this originally in the Structural engineering other topics Forum (forum507), but, as feared, it generated no replies. I thought I would repost it here to try to generate some dialog on this fabrication technique.
I am interested to get forum members thoughts on the manufacturing methods developed by Industrial Origami, Inc.
Here are some patents I have been able to locate:
06481259: Method for precision bending of a sheet of material and slit sheet therefor
WO04028937A2: TECHNIQUES FOR DESIGNING AND MANUFACTURING PRECISION-FOLDED, HIGH STRENGTH, FATIGUE-RESISTANT STRUCTURES AND SHEET THEREFOR
EP1347844A1: METHOD FOR PRECISION BENDING OF A SHEET OF MATERIAL AND SLIT SHEET THEREFOR
Best regards,
