Hi

I am looking into this software for design of RC mid rise buildings, say up to 30 storeys. This is for use Australia to AS standards.

I expect it will not be as fully featured as others, ie ETABS for lateral design.

Any design will need to be sensibility checked and verified and I don’t subscribe to black box design. At a minimum it could be useful as a quick prelim design tool, with final stability in ETABS and floors in RAPT or RAM Concept. Using 2 packages also allows cross checking.

I am looking for comment from anyone with experience with this package. What are the likes / dislikes / areas that need work?

Thanks in advance

We use it often for 3-5 story buildings. It has come a long way over the past ten years and is improving in many areas. They do take feedback on board.

Items I like is slabs it has developed into a very handy tool for flat plate slab design. Does take a bit to turn the results in bars for laps ECT, but recent updates have made this even easier. The R/C build which is there 3d designer is a bit limited in the elements selections but has improved vastly and we can work around most issues. Is a bit black boxish for lateral loads, but at my height this can be easily check with hand calcs.

I believe they offer 1 month free, would suggest you do this is

I remember a while back, Inducta released an advert for their new PT slab module.

However, the graphic that was used in the background showed tendons running through the lift shaft and outside of the slab edge. Got a good chuckle from everyone in the office.

I'm sure they've fixed this up by now!

PS - You simply can't beat the RAPT and RAM Concept combo for floor design, IMO.
