NFPA 20-2013 4.25.5.2 Valves and components for the pressure maintenance pump shall not be required to be listed.
20-2013 4.25.5.7 The isolation valves serving the pressure maintenance pump shall not be required to be supervised.
It would appear ball valves are acceptable.
