Hi. I hope that somebody can help me!

I was trying to send some drawings by email, but I notice that some of mi files are more than 8 mb size, while others are only 500 KB or less. I discovery that my templates have an 8 mb size, but I don't know why is this. I erase everything in the template, and, with a white sheet, it still had 8 mb. I restart a new template with the solidworks drawing template as a base (32 kb) I add some elements to the format and check the size (500 Kb) I DID NOT add more elements, move some lines, save again and check the size (1 MB!!!!) Does anybody know how to keep the templates small, and why it increase their size when I save? It's amazing that i cant send mi files by email because the template is much, much bigger than the drawing itself.... Thanks for your help!

What's in your drawing template? Inserted pictures? Empty Views?

Out templates contain just the drawing border and titleblock and are around 200kb, no matter ahow many times you save them.

well, I have the drawing border and the title block, plus two inserted bmp (46 and 13 kb Each). It is not so complicated. When I create the template for the first time, it has 500 Kb (is not that big) but the problem starts wheN I modify and save. I erased an old image that was so big, but no diference, the template still 8 mb. And the strange thing, I delete EVERYTHING in the template, save it, and it is still 8 mb. By the way I use sw2005 SP 5

Mine are also static. Six at 108KB (Same size, different notes). One at 38KB (Rectangular outline only).

Lots of information found doing a search using file size as the keywords.

Have you tried "Save as. . . " which generally deleted all the restoration data in other programs?

It works! When I "save as" the file size returns to the original. I just Save as another name, delete the original and rename the new file. Thank You Veri much snowcrash!!!!

I would've suggested running UnFrag on those files.
