Do you have data on the environment?
Do you have any metallography on samples?
I have see 800 fail by thermal fatigue, chloride stress corrosion cracking, IGA and a few other modes.

Here is a tip, get the failed tube to a metallurgical lab for failure analysis. This is the only way to determine the cause of failure.

thanks for the replies , but really looking more for literature references on what might be occurring 850-1000 F materials are britlle with evidence of cracking
anyone know who is competent at repairing ?
Thanks

You can visit this web site for background information on damage mechanisms for Ni-base alloys;

Repairs? You are looking at probably plugging failed tubes and eventually re-tubing this heat exchanger. Repair Organization? Depending on your locations, you can start out with a qualified boiler repair organization and/or the OEM of the heat exchanger.
