Improve Adhesion to Aluminum Extrusion 1

Bonding natural rubber to 6061 aluminum extrusion. Using Chemlock adhesives.
Is there a surface treatment for the aluminum to roughen the surface prior to applying the adhesive? It would seem that a coarser surface finish is better for rubber adhesion than the smooth surface on the extrusion.
 
Aluminum parts like this are usually roughened using grit blasting prior to application of the adhesive. Lord Corporation, the manufacturer of Chemlok adhesives, has an excellent Application Guide available online. Use the following link for more information:
