Hi,

This might not be the correct place to post my question but I figured that I would start here because SW figures prominently in what I am asking about. Has anyone tried pulling in values into the Solidworks materials file from ANSYS? I believe they're both XML and it seems as though generating a custom database via import from another FEA package wouldn't be too far out of the ordinary. Your feedback is most appreciated.

Cheers,

I haven't tried ANSYS in particular, but have not had any luck pulling materials from any non-native format into SW. My experience is from moving files between programs for rendering purposes and I've always had to re-assign materials once the model has been migrated.

Hi "ren" -

Thanks for the feedback. It seems like a fairly innocent request but I guess that's why they have ANSYS, COSMOS, etc.

Best regards,
