Hi friends

I'm working a part in millimeters, but I need import another part created in inches into this file.
Some one of you knows if is possible?.

Thanks for your comments

If by "import another part created in inches into this file" you mean adding it as a component, then yes it is possible. NX allows assembly files to contain metric and imperial components, though some functionality will be lost.

If you are truly importing the geometry into a part with different base units, you should consider converting the part file units before doing so. NX has a utility program "ug_convert_part.exe" in the UGII folder for this purpose. Check the help file and the forum for tips on using it.

The problem was resolved.

a)I opened the file in inches
b)I applied file>export>parasolid
c)Save with another name (*.x_t)
d)Into the file in millimeters, file>import>parasolid>select file>ok
e)The part (inches) appears in millimeters into the file directly

Thanks a lot for your comments

That's because, unknown to a lot of people, ALL Parasolid data (this includes all Solid and Sheet bodies as well as some other stuff) is always created and stored in Metric units, irrespective of the base units of the NX Part file. So whether the part file is Metric (with millimeters as the base units) or Imperial (with inches as the base units) the Parasolid data will always be stored in meters (the reason for this has to do with getting as much precision was possible without losing too much of it to the left-side of the decimal place).

Thanks for your contribution, in the future working with these types of files could be easier for all of us.
No doubt that NX is awesome!
