Hello,

I have some problems with importing a assembly into Teamcenter.
Due to lack of time, we have ask e external company to make a assembly from existing parts we have already in teamcenter, and correct/clean up a few parts.
When i export the parts for that company a part with by example the name VNB12345 version 01.003 was renamed by teamcenter to VNB12345_01_003.
So the whole assembly they made have have wrong part-names, not corresponding with our names in Teamcenter.
The few parts they have changed i already have imported them into Teamcenter. That was no problem.

Now i want to import the assembly into Teamcenter with the "Default Import Action" option "use existing" for all the parts. I only want to import the assembly structure.
But when i do that the program still asks me to give a new/1 higher "Part revision" number for every part, and it gives me the possibility to give every part a new part-name. So it's still trying to import the parts instead of using existing parts in Teamcenter. And that's not what i want.

I want the option that i can say to use existing part VNB12345 version 01.003 in TC when it's trying to import part VNB12345_01_003.
Now part VNB12345_01_003 becomes part VNB12345_01_003 version 01.001.
Or when i rename part VNB12345_01_003 to VNB12345 TC makes it VNB12345 version 01.004

What am i doing wrong?
If i read other topics on this site i have to use "Default Import Action" option "use existing". And that's what i'm doing.

So next time we only ask the other company to correct/clean up the parts and make the assembly's our self. That's much easier than what we are doing now.

Hope someone can help me out with this.
Thanks already.
