Hey All,
Can any one guide me what will happen to the quality of Pure terepthalic acid if glycerin( used as sealing fliud for PTA crystallizer agitator ) leaks inside the crystallizer. Glycerin is supposed to be inert to the system yet if there is excessive glycerin leakage inside the crystallizer what are expected possible outcomes on PTA quality.
Powdered Terepthalic acid is first mixed with water at high temperature and then hydrogenated to remove impurities. The solution is then recrystallized in series of crstallizers to get Pure terepthalic acid.
