IGES into Catia from Solidworks 2004 SP 3.0

Has anyone tried to IGES out a SW prt with datum planes into Catia V4? How do the datums come across?

When you IGES out anything you lose dimensions and everything that is not associated to the geometry itself. You will only get a dumb solid with no information.

I believe IGES is capable of handling datum plane and axis entities. However, SW is not set up to import or export them.

You might try making planar surfaces to mark key planes if needed.
