IC market experts : HELP ! 1

Today I have spent one hour searching for the data sheet
of an IC made originally by MOTOROLA in 1996. I wasn't able to find out who makes it now?

Could anyone who knows the IC market please post here the
"family tree " of the IC manufacturers or any help you can
give us to find the data sheets of these orphaned
products ?

IC Master use to be (and may still be) the best place to start for cross referances.

Also search for "obsolete semiconductor". Original parts are often available on the secondary market.

8 yrs is a trifle bit long, depending on what the market was.

IR: Sreid solved the actual problem. It still would be nice
to have a "family tree" -- a list of new companies who
took over old products like MOTOROLA --> ONSEMI or HP-->
AGILENT, Etc...
