I can see in IBC 2003, 1616.1, IT CLEARLY SAYS "ASD is permitted to evaluate sliding, overturning and soil bearing ..."

However, I could not find such sentence in IBC 2006. Did I miss something??

I guess what I am trying to find out is that:

I understand that ASD is what we used in practice for FTG safety check. However, I would like to find a standing point from the code IBC 2006 where it says clearly that ASD is what we should use. I can find it in 2003 not in 2006

JStephen,

There is no 1616.1 in 2006 version. I guess you mean in 2003, as I mentioned.

Oops. I think I pulled out the 2000 version rather than the 2006 version. Never mind!
