I-DEAS Database Foundation Error

when importing an old .mf1 file into IDEAS 10 NX SERIES M3, I get the following error:
***** I-DEAS Database Foundation Error *****
Error: 204 -- DB_INVALID_FIELD
Routine: dbrfr Value: 4

This run of I-DEAS has ABNORMALLY ended. (Application Abort)
anyone knows a work around this?

At my office, we are upgrading from I-Deas MS6 to a much newer version (I think it is 11). All of our model files have to be ran through I-Deas 8 before we can open them in the new version. I guess the advances in the software necessitated a loss of backward compatibility.
