I can't edit the mesh controls on an orphan mesh is this possible?

I am running a contact simulation through Abaqus explicit and have noticed that I am getting hour glassing errors in the results. I want to change the stiffness relaxation in the mesh controls to enhanced but the program says an orphan mesh can only be editted using the edit mesh tools. Is there away around this?
