Hi:

My name is Yordan. I am a new Linux user and I recently purchased a Linux Product (Linux SuSE 7.0 Personal). I go through all the installation without problems, but when I get to the part where I have to test the resolution for the monitor, and I click on the Test Button, it takes me to a gray screen and just sits there. I have chose the correct resolution. I have also tried pressing <ESC> to go back to the previous screen and it stays on the same gray screen. I have had to reinstalled the OS more than 7 times and the same thing always happens. What can I do about this and is there anything I could do to go back to just the resolution configuration instead of going through the whole installation again? I tried rebooting with the boot disk and that doesn't work either. Please, help. I want to have Linux on my machine really bad (Tired of Windows Crashing).

What type of video card and monitor are you running Yordan? It would also help to know the driver that you are selecting on install and what resolution your wanting to run at.

At least Windows gets to the point where it does crash. I had the same problem with Suse and an old version of Red Hat. Can't remember the video card offhand, nothing unusual though. I found that Corel Linux installed just fine and works ok. It is distinctly slow compared to Windows 98.
