What's the best way to use HYSYS to simulate a 3 phase separator that doesn't separate completely? Ie in practise there are entrained gases in the liquid hydrocarbon stream leaving the separator. Is it correct that the HYSYS "separator" operation will always separate 100% of vapour at given T & P? If so, my first guess is to build the HYSYS model to recombine some of gas stream back into downstream liquid hydrocarbon stream, so that it will reflect the real situation. Is there a better way?
FYI the fluid entering the separator is emulsion of bitumen + gases + water (from SAGD) at ~ 140 degC and 600 kPag.
