Hi there,

Starting with Hypermesh ... Does anybody know if, while importing Geometry, it is possible to create a Collector for each surface in the model?

I am trying to achieve this as while I am meshing all surfaces at same time, it is diffcult to handle the model then afterwards to see each mesh seperately ...

Cheers,

Pierre-Yves

Hi,
You should import an Iges file and keep each surface in a different layer.

Thanks.

Do you know how it works with CATIA V5 then?
Shall I make different 1 "Geometrical set" for each Collectror in HM ?

Sorry, I don't use Catia. you should move your file to a program that can handle single surface as Rhinoceros, or just asign in Hypermesh a collector for each surface.
But, if you permit, is not the right way to use Hypermesh.
The power of Hypermesh is the ability to manage many surface as only one. and make a congruent mesh across surfaces.
You could manage thousand of surfaces in hypermesh and make a congruent mesh.
I think you should run some hypermesh tutorials.

Hey,
another question about surfs.
After importing an iges file i would like to creat midsurfaces. The geometry has e.g ten components. I'd like to have the surfs into the collector of the according component. But hypermesh creats the collector Midsurfaces. Is it possible to change it?

What I do usually is to create midsurf for each collector separately and rename the midsurface collector created by HM. In this way you will have, at end of work, old collectors with base geometry and new collectors with midsurf separately.

Okay,
i did it the same way. I thought perhaps there is another way to do that...

Thanks a lot!
