Hello All-
I run ASTM B117 Salt Fog Tests and the hydrometers I use are 'specific gravity' and 300mm long... I know there are 0 to 26.5% Sodium Chloride (NaCl), % by Weight Hydrometer's available and that is what I prefer to purchase but I cannot find any that are ~150mm long.

When using the 300mm long ones, I have a bunch of extra graduated cylinders in my test cabinet to collect enough solution to float the hydrometer. With the minimum required 2 cylinders @ 24ml/hr, I may only have 48ml of collected solution to work with. I have found specific gravity hydrometers which are this short but I'd like to eliminate the step of converting specific gravity to % Salinity. (streamline steps to eliminate mistakes...especially for other workers who I'm training)

I've spent some time looking on the internet for what I'm looking for but cannot find anything.

Does anyone here have a known Model # of hydrometer which I can look for that is ~150mm long and measures 0-26.5% by weight ?

Thanks !!! - Kevin

How about marking the acceptable range on the specific gravity hydrometers?

We had a similar issue with another test device.
We built the correlation table into our procedure.
Sometimes that is the only way.
