What is a really good book to learn hydrology from.
I am familiar with using plenty of software environments
to create hydrology information...but I don't have
a clue if that information is correct or not (Im sure it is, but I would like to know why). I would like to know enough about hydrology to be able to determine if the model and calculations seem to be right.

For strict H&H studies...Ven Te Chow is the basis for any modern hydrology and hydraulics book.
For quick learning, an easy and free study guide are the Corps manuals for HEC-1 & HEC-HMS. These manuals can be downloaded from:
Also most government agencies criteria manual tends to have a decent amount of basic hydrology principals in them.

If U can find a copy -----
The Soil Conservstion Service (SCS) National Engineering Handbook. Section 4 HYDROLOGY.

Published by the US Dept. of Agriculture.
Might try your local USDA office. or check this web site.

try "Hydrology for Engineers" by Linsley, Kohler and Paulhus ISBN 0-07-037956-4
