Hi,

I'm assisting a maintenance crew at the power plant that I work at in changing out a Hydrogen Valve that connects from our generator to our hydrogen supply line.

The info that I have on the valve is:
1" valve rated at 100 psig
Its connecting to stainless steel piping

Is there any special requirements for a hydrogen valve, or some sort of standards that need to be adhered to for Hydrogen valves? If so could someone please advise me of them. I'm sure there are.

Your help is appreciated.

Regards,

Jim

If it's electrically actuated it will need to meet the requirements for whatever hazardous area code you work under - US by any chance? Non-US members tend to say where they're from. [smile]

Other than that hydrogen is a very small molecule and is demanding on the valve seals for that reason. You might want to ask in forum408 but if you do please post a link back to this thread to keep the discussion from getting fragmented.
