Hello engineers,
First time on the site, bear with me. Am planning to build a hovecraft, and have a problem with having a 12' belt driving the lift fan. Have thought of using a hydraulic pump to power both the lift and the thrust fan, possibly with a reversible pump for the thrust fan to provide a reverse without additional ducting as in a turbine. Any place, or personal knowledge of efficiencies for this setup? Would like a hydrostatic drive style for both controls, with aforementioned reverse on thrust motor. Am I out of line, or is this a feasible alternative to direct drive. Thanks for your input, Brian
