Dear Engineers.

According to clause No. 2.8 of ASME B-16.5, "With the exception of the following, the straight hub welding flanges shall have dimensions of the welding neck flanges of size and class set forth in tables 8, 11, 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22".

So, what should be the hub diameter "X" considered for LWN flanges?

Dear Mike.

Thanks for your reply. But, Fig. 15 rave stateefers back to the same clause No. 2.8 as I have stated.

This clause says "With the exception of the following, the straight hub welding flanges shall have dimensions of the welding neck flanges of size and class set forth in tables 8, 11, 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22".

So we can not follow the hub diameter from tables 8, 11, 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22.

So, what O.D. to be followed?

78692Ali, is seems pretty clear to me that the neck OD is equal to "X" from the various tables.

The exceptions refer to neck length, bore and hub end as per 2.8.1, 2.8.2, 2.8.3

Regards,

Mike
