To Whom It May Concern,
I am trying to verify a HSS Connection using the 14th edition AISC manual in conjunction with AISC design guide 24. I am having a great deal of difficulty understanding how to classify the connection.
Should it be checked as a K? or a Cross Connection? please see the attached pdf.
Additionally, I found an article about connections between HSS Round and HSS Square, where it says to treat the round as a square shape, run the calculations using HSS Square formulas, and multiply the final result by pi/4. Any thoughts?
