when i was living in osaka, japan doing a thriving business in recycled goods i was contacted by another round-eye with a problem. he had a very lucrative contract to take an unused building in the heart of the entertainment district which was slated for demolition in a few years and turn it into a disco. the only stipulation was NO NOISE on the outside. forget the usual techniques, i.e. lead sheet, etc. to expensive and this place was about 7,000 sq. ft. i checked the books and rubber looked like the best bet. forget new due to $$$. bought used conveyor belting by the ton and did all the walls and ceiling -- hung it directly on concrete block. with the amps driven to meltdown you had to put your ear to the block on the outside of the building to hear anything. probably wouldn't pass code or something on this side of the pond but if you want to stop noise, use rubber!! rgds, james
