We want to operate a DG set with AMF so that it will automatically start and connect to load. but local restrictions call to have mechanical interlock between the incoming breakers of DG and main power. Can we use Bowden cable in this case for interlock. will it work in Auto mode with Bowden cable.

Ask your local Authority Having Jurisdiction.

Ohm's law
Not just a good idea;
It's the LAW!

You do get the interlocked circuit breakers in the market readily, for the purpose.
The mains breaker trips automatically on mains failure (No-volt release).
The DG breaker closes after confirming there is voltage at its input terminals.
Mechanical interlock between the two breakers prevents closing of DG breaker unless the mains breaker is open.

On the market:
1. Two ACBs one on top of the other, there are standard solid rod interlocking meninism by the OEM.
1.1 Two ACBs side by side or in different panels, there are standard flexible wire interlocking meninism by the OEM.
2. Two MCBs one on top of the other,???
2.1 Two MCBs side by side, there are standard interlocking meninism by the OEM.
3. Attention: Both breakers MUST also be electrically interlocked by (usually) under-voltage release NOT with shunt release!. This is to prevent inadvertent both breakers being closed at the same time.

PS: typo error "meninism" should be "mechanism"
