hello guys and gurls...........

is there a way to display an area of a element of solid like a square or triangle...........

can ideas diplay this value?

tony

Physical Properties will tell you the surface area of a solid.

If you want to know the area of one part of that solid then you need to extract the entities you're interested in from the solid and then use Physical Properties to determine the open surface area.

Hi,

For just some elements you can perform operation by hand : export the coordinates then use an Excel macro to calculate volume and area using some determinant of the coordinates xi,yi,zi ; xj,yj,zj ; xm,ym,zm ; xp;yp;zp.
see Zienkiewicz "The Finite Element Method" Vol1 or classical FEM books for details.
For many elements, forget what I said!

Not agree?
:-)
