How to find items in layer

I'm working in an assembly drawing. I need to find the component which is hidden in one of the layers. It's very difficult to find outthe correct layer where it is hiding, sincehundred of layers present in it.Is there anyway to do contrl+F kindfor layer status..?

If you know the feature, and just need to know what layer it is on that is hidden, RMB on the feature and select "Info > feature" Layer information (and status) is in the middle of the page.
