Dear all,
I have to extract the stiffness matrix of a 2D truss structure and i followed the correct procedure of extracting K values but the software gives half of the K matrix values. My question is whether the software just gives the half of symmetric stiffness matrix or we can get the complete stiffness matrix as well?
Thanks!

Do a simple structure (like 2 nodes) and compare the output to a hand check of the assembled stiffness matrix? If its giving one half (above or below the diagonal) of the full matrix, I guess you need to confirm what half (top/bottom) obviously and the format so you can reassemble the entire thing.

I've never extracted the stiffness matrix, but it would seem like it would be something that is bound to be documented in the manuals? If not a quick email to CSI might provide an definitive answer.
