How to determine "statistically valid" sampling plans

Hi everyone,


Good day!!!!

Just want to ask if you could provide me some procedures on how to determine sampling plans.

As of now, we perform sampling inspection in our
production line but we have no basis whether or not
the chosen sampling plan is statistically valid.

We just choose according to what we "feel" is the right
one. I tried to check on the internet and I saw some
articles about OC curves, but they are too broad.

Any "layman's" explanation on how to do this correctly?

There are a number of industry standards (ASTM, etc.) that document acceptable sample size, sampling rates, etc. Probably most of these are derived from US military standards. Here is a list of some and a link for where you can obtain them:
