How to define the Field Variable in a Correct Way?

Hi there,

I would like to define two field variable. First Field variable is the step time and second one is the plastic shear strain. So, I would like to vary the angle of internal friction as well as the cohesion with the step time and plastic strain. I have three step. First step time is 0.001, Second step time is 5 sec and third one is 30 sec.

I am analyzing a slope with CEL technique. So, I have to reduce the strength at a specific region and other part too.

Here I am attaching a photo where the FV1 is the step time and FV2 is the Plastic strain. I can call the field variable through the subroutine but I want to define it correctly in input file. How to define them?

But you only have data (column 1) for FV2 = 0

You're trying to define "Angle of Internal Friction" as a function of two variables ("step time" and "plastic strain") ... something like AIF = A*FV1+B*FV2.
You need more than 1 data for each of the FV to be able to define the rate of change with respect to that variable (dAIF/dFV2).

Sounds like very interesting. But I don't know how to define like this. can you please describe through an example? It would be very much appreciated.

you can't (IMHO) define it ... you don't have enough data. How does the "Internal Friction Angle" change as "plastic strain" changes ? Ideally you want the angle for the same three "step time" values but with a different "plastic strain" value.

I want to eroded a portion of that model so that some plastic strain will create. Based on that the internal angle of friction will be changed. And Field variable 2 is my plastic strain.
