How to cut an image into a surface?

The subject line says most of what I want. I have a flat surface that I want to cut an image into - a line-art logo actually. The I want to extrude a cut into the surface a couple tenths of an inch. I have done this with text befoire and this seems like such a simple thing that there must be a way of doing it.


I saw a thread about incorporating an image into a sketch, but you can't do anything with it once it's there.

Hi, you can use from Tools/Sketch Entities the command Text for the special draw-quality text with closed profile.

From there, once you have the text sketch, it should be simple to extrude it by selecting all the letters.
