How to create datum points on a surface from a file ?

does anyone know how to create datum point on surface by reading from a file ?

Creating points on a surface is a concept for when you DON'T know the points and just want to select on the surface. If you are sure the points already lie on the surface, and you would have to be to have coordinates, then just read the points in normally. If you are importing the surface make sure you are using the same csys for both features.
