I am calculating the dynamic response of a steel frame structure with composite beams. When I use section designer, I input the concrete flange in. The width of the flange was calculated by hand. I compared the result of the steel frame with these beams and the result from beams without concrete flange. The natural frequencies are different, but the dynamic responses are similar.

My question is, should I consider the flange, or, the software will consider about it automatically?

Thanks

Im not sure i want to tackle this question, but as a guidance, wouldnt it be easier to do something equivalent with a static analysis? (just to see how the software deals with this issue).

How similar are the responses btw?
